GoMind is operated by Posh Limited, a company registered in Hong Kong. This policy explains how we collect, store, and protect your data when you use the GoMind application.
1. Data We Collect
We collect the minimum data needed to operate the cloud sync service:
- Account information: email address and a hashed password (we never store passwords in plain text).
- Mind map files: the .gomind files you create and sync to the cloud.
- Usage metadata: file timestamps, device identifiers for sync conflict resolution, and basic crash logs.
We do not collect keystroke data, screen capture, contact lists, or any data unrelated to the mind-mapping service.
2. Data Storage & Region
On registration, your region is determined based on your IP address and locked to your account. Your data is stored in the corresponding region:
Global (default): AWS, Singapore
China local users: Aliyun (Alibaba Cloud), mainland China
Your region assignment is permanent and does not change automatically if your IP later changes (e.g. via VPN). Data migration between regions is not available as a self-service feature.
3. How We Use Your Data
- To provide cloud sync across your devices
- To process payments (processed via App Store / Google Play; we do not store payment card details)
- To send essential service communications (e.g. account recovery emails)
- To improve the app via anonymised crash analytics
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your data. We do not share your personal data with third parties except:
- Cloud infrastructure providers (Aliyun / AWS) acting as data processors under our instruction
- Law enforcement, if required by applicable law and with a valid legal request
5. Your Rights
You may at any time:
- Export all your mind map data from the app
- Delete your account and all associated data via account settings
- Contact us to request information about your stored data
6. Data Security
All data in transit is encrypted via TLS. Data at rest is encrypted on our storage providers. We follow industry-standard practices for access control and incident response.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. After account deletion, all data is permanently erased within 30 days.
8. Third-Party Services
GoMind integrates with the following third-party services:
- App Store / Google Play: payment processing (their privacy policies apply to payment data)
- Aliyun / AWS: cloud infrastructure (data processing under our control)
9. Children
GoMind is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy. Material changes will be notified via the app or email. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
